Punggol North will be designated as an “enterprise district” to home digital and cyber security industries in the near future. JTC Corporation is the appointed master developer for this project, and will h ave the flexibility to develop the district based on land use and gross plot ratio guidelines at the district level.
Minister for National Development, Lawrence Wong, who made the announcements in Parliament on Tuesday, said “Many more are being worked on. These are major moves that will take decades to complete.”
The new Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) campus will be located right next to JTC’s business parks. Also, locating SIT’s campus and JTC’s business parks side by side, there can be better integration of facilities, for instance, research labs, incubator spaces and learning facilities.
Mr Wong added that local consultants, architects, engineers and contractors are also encouraged to take part in these rejuvenation projects.
